Welcome to Chlamydia Diagnostic Centre
Our lab is recognised as the reference laboratory for detecting Chlamydia psittaci infections transmitted from birds to humans.
In addition, we perform various types of analyses on animal samples for detecting chlamydia infections in farm animals and pets.
These analyses are conducted using our uniquely developed Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, which are able to detect chlamydia DNA.
Chlamydia trachomatis is a bacterium best known for causing eye and especially genital infections in humans.
Lesser known is that other Chlamydia species, like for instance
C. psittaci, C. abortus, and C. suis, can cause various diseases in animals and that the Chlamydia species mentioned can be transmitted from animals to humans.
Our lab conducts groundbreaking research on chlamydia infections in both humans and animals
